Health Care Service

AKINCHAN has been working since last 11 years on TI project on HIV/AIDS with Female Sex Workers (FSW), men having sex with men (MSM), Transgender(TG) and Injecting drug users (IDU) at Nagaon district. The aim of this organization is to empower the community from social discrimination and stigma, promote safe behavior through knowledge on HIV/AIDS and besides providing them with linkages for health care services. Presently the organization is providing regular services to 485 HRG’s with 43 Home Based, 5 Street Based, 404 Mobile Based,6 student based and 27 Dhaba Based FSW’s and 205 HRG’s with 191 are kothis, 2 is panthi, 9 are bio sexual and 3 are double decker and 72 HRG,s with Transgender 72 and 436 HRG,s are IDU. At present AKINCHAN is working with 19 peer educators to achieve high level of saturated coverage at the grassroots level. During this 14 years of project activities 395 are found positive and 318 of them are registered under GMCH, ART centre.
