AKINCHAN implements a long-term HIV/AIDS prevention project supported by Assam State AIDS Control Society (ASACS), with a sustained focus on access, prevention, treatment linkage, and community dignity.

  • Approximately 1,400 high-risk group individuals reached.
  • Peer-led outreach, STI services, HIV testing, and ART linkage.
  • Strong focus on rights, dignity, and stigma reduction.
  • High retention, treatment adherence, and community empowerment outcomes.

Socio-Economic Study of Agri-Farmers

Research

AKINCHAN conducted an extensive survey to understand climate change impacts on farming communities and identify intervention needs.

  • Assessment of landholding, crop patterns, and farming practices.
  • Identified need for training, solar fencing, and cold storage.
  • High interest in poultry and fisheries as allied livelihoods.
  • Findings will guide future livelihood and climate-resilience programs.

Livestock Feed Distribution Camp

Relief

Recognizing the overlooked impact of floods on livestock, AKINCHAN conducted a dedicated livestock feed distribution camp.

  • 250 flood-affected families benefited.
  • 4 tonnes of livestock feed distributed.
  • Materials donated entirely in kind.
  • This initiative restored hope and protected livelihood assets of rural families.

Day-long Flood Relief Program

Emergency Relief

In response to devastating floods in Assam, AKINCHAN organized a day-long flood relief program to support families affected by displacement and loss.

  • 110 beneficiary families supported.
  • Distribution of rice, chira, muri, salt, oil, biscuits, and drinking water.
  • Strong coordination with local community leaders.
  • The initiative provided immediate relief and emotional reassurance to families facing extreme hardship.

Climate Resilient Aquaculture Training

Training

A one-day training program was organized in collaboration with the Department of Fisheries, Government of Assam.

  • 30 fish farmers trained.
  • Focus on climate-smart and sustainable aquaculture.
  • Practical demonstrations and interactive sessions.
  • Participants showed strong interest in adopting the recommended practices.
